SIEMPELKAMP designs and builds hydraulic forging presses for the hot and cold forming of the most demanding workpieces. With press forces up to 500 MN and beyond, our systems form components made of hard-to-form materials that are subject to the highest requirements in terms of precision and process reliability. Every project starts with our customer’s end product. Together with you, we develop the optimum process technology, simulate the forming behavior of the materials, and plan the entire plant, including all peripheral systems.

Open-die forging press

Our hydraulic open-die forging presses operate with press forces from 10 to 160 MN and are characterized by a particularly high stroke frequency. In fully automatic operation with integrated manipulator control and Forgemaster technology software, they forge bars, disks, rings, and flanges made of steel, titanium, nickel-based alloys, and aluminum. SIEMPELKAMP supplies complete open-die forging lines, including manipulators, lift-and-rotate tables, tool magazine, and tool changing system.

Die forging press

With press forces between 15 and 500 MN, our die forging presses provide the optimum basis for complex components made of high-strength materials. Specially developed control algorithms regulate the forming speed in the range from 0.05 to 50 mm/s within a tolerance band of ±5 percent. In combination with hydraulic synchronous control systems, this ensures maximum dimensional accuracy and reproducibility, even with asymmetrical mass distribution and high eccentric loads.

Isothermal forging press

Our isothermal forging presses are used to manufacture highly loaded components made of hard-to-form materials such as titanium aluminide or powder-metallurgical nickel-based alloys. The forging tools are temperature-controlled to within a few degrees, and the press speed is up to 0.01 mm/s. SIEMPELKAMP supplies complete isothermal forging cells, including furnace, loading manipulator, die heating, hydraulic drive system, and automation technology. The entire forging process takes place in a protective gas atmosphere or under vacuum.
