Isothermal forging presses
SIEMPELKAMP isothermal forging presses
Our isothermal forging presses are used to produce sophisticated and highly durable components for high-tech products. The presses are designed for the most demanding applications, such as aerospace, defense, medical technology, and more. Press speeds of 0.01 mm/s are achieved.
SIEMPELKAMP also supplies complete plants for isothermal forging. They include the furnace, the loading manipulator, the forging press, die heating, the hydraulic drive system, and the complete automation technology. The plant control system monitors and documents the process parameters in accordance with the certification standards of the aerospace industry.
SIEMPELKAMP offers a modular system for configuring an isothermal forging cell, consisting of coordinated components such as a forging press, add-on structures for cell enclosure, inductive die heating (upper and lower die), rotary-hearth furnace, universal loading manipulator, and more.
The isothermal forging cell is designed as an autonomous production unit. This system concept is prepared for additional modules that, for example, enable simplified tool changes. Heating of the next forging die and cooling of the die to be replaced in a nitrogen atmosphere can take place in parallel with the forging process. The chamber is operated with shielding gas. We achieve high accuracy by avoiding the stick-slip effect through the use of special seals.
