Open-die forging presses

SIEMPELKAMP open-die forging presses

Open-die forging is a metal forming process in which metallic workpieces are plastically deformed in a controlled way between tools without a completely closed die. Our plants are designed to meet the requirements of the end product and your individual additional specifications and feature the highest level of automation. They can be operated in fully automatic mode.

Sizes: Series from 10 MN to 100 MN and any special size, individually engineered
Industries and certifications: aerospace, oil, gas & energy technology, mining, railway, defense, etc.

Our open-die forging presses play a central role among forging presses for bulk metal forming. SIEMPELKAMP supplies complete open-die forging lines with integrated manipulators and auxiliary equipment such as lifting and rotating tables and numerous additional accessories. Reliable, fast, and precise, they operate with a press force from 10 to 160 MN, in above-floor or pit-mounted design, in two- or four-column configuration, with oil or water hydraulics. Their high stroke frequency contributes to efficiency. Customers use these plants to produce bars, discs, rings, and flanges from materials such as steel, high-alloy steel, nickel-based alloys, titanium, and aluminum.

Customers order these plants as complete turnkey systems with integrated manipulators, rotary table, as well as tool magazine and automatic tool change system. Our process technology expertise focuses not only on the forging technology at the press. By designing the furnace capacities, planning the production hall, and even the complete factory layout, we provide plant operators with comprehensive support.
