U-bending presses for pipes

SIEMPELKAMP is the number one supplier of customized plants for the leading manufacturers of pipeline pipes. These longitudinally welded large-diameter pipes are produced using the “C-U-O” process. Compared with other processes available on the market, it is characterized by its high production output of up to 30 pipes/min, regardless of the pipe diameter.

Our large presses in proven sheet-metal frame design use heavy components and tools from our in-house foundry. The three hydraulic presses form the key forming units of a modern pipe line for producing longitudinally welded pipes with lengths of up to 18 m in three forming steps. For each of the three forming steps, SIEMPELKAMP offers the optimum press and the equipment in the forming line (such as pipe transport, lubrication, and measurement).

U-presses have three to four main cylinders for a pipe length of approx. 11–18 meters. The plates are positioned and centered precisely in the press and formed using the independent horizontal and vertical forming axes. The controlled motion of all three axes enables the production of the optimum U-shape for the subsequent forming into the O.
