O-pipe bending press
SIEMPELKAMP O-pipe bending press
The O-press has a pressing force of 4,000 t per meter of pipe length. This is required in order to form today's materials above X100 with the desired ovality at an optimum degree of reduction.
The control concept with (patented) parallel closed-loop control enables the most precise travel of the moving beam of +/- 1 mm/m over its entire length.
In combination with our tools, this results in an exact pipe gap and saves considerable time and material in the subsequent welding process.
The intelligent sensor system and the closed-loop control concept of all main cylinders make it possible to process different plate lengths as well (for example, remaining lengths).
The press drive can be implemented using conventional drive concepts or frequency-controlled drive concepts. With our ECO Drive, we use the high moving mass of the moving beam to generate energy regeneratively during controlled rapid lowering and feed it back into the system. This helps our customers reduce energy consumption.
The modular tool system with half-shells reduces tooling costs. This is a design that SIEMPELKAMP has further developed over the years and optimized using FEM. The half-shells for the desired pipe diameter are mounted on the massive tool carrier segments. The tool carrier and shells are made of spheroidal graphite cast iron (EN-GJS). The graphite inclusions in the cast material minimize friction between plate and tool as well as tool wear.
