Our aspiration is to shape the industrial future in such a way that efficiency, durability, and resource conservation come together. Especially for a technology-oriented company like the SIEMPELKAMP Group, the development of new resource-conserving products and the corresponding further development of existing plants are essential. In addition, complex challenges surrounding recycling processes within our group, but also at our partners, are a constant driver for these developments.

We are not only concerned with reducing negative environmental impacts, but also with safe working conditions, skills development, responsible corporate governance, and long-term economic stability along the value chain.

For us, sustainability means combining responsibility with technological effectiveness – in our solutions, in our processes, and with a view to future generations.

Our understanding of sustainability

At SIEMPELKAMP, we take a holistic view of sustainability. For us, it encompasses three interconnected perspectives:

Ecological responsibility

We want to help use resources more efficiently and reduce emissions. To this end, we are making our processes more future-proof and efficient. We rely on concrete levers such as expanding renewable energies, using secondary raw materials, ongoing process optimizations, and material savings in design. Our plants meet the highest standards of energy and resource efficiency. In addition, we are taking innovative approaches to enable recycling and a circular economy.

Social responsibility

We assume responsibility for people within our company as well as in our collaboration with customers and other partners. We regard safe working conditions, comprehensive health protection and health awareness, and the targeted development of skills as essential to our business success.

Economic responsibility

We see sustainable business practices as the basis for long-term business success and added value for society. We think long term and invest in viable solutions instead of focusing on short-term effects. Through transparent processes, responsible corporate governance, and respectful treatment of people and resources, we build trust among our stakeholders.

Our sustainability targets

Sustainability requires commitment. That is why we define clear targets for the SIEMPELKAMP Group that guide our actions. Our current strategic targets show what we particularly want to focus on in the coming years.

40% fewer CO₂ emissions by 2030

We aim to consistently reduce our CO₂ emissions and are working on concrete levers such as renewable energies, energy-efficient processes, and the continuous optimization of our technologies and workflows.

LTA rate < 5

The safety of our employees is a high priority for us. With the short-term target of an LTA rate below 5, we are strengthening prevention, clear standards, and a safety culture throughout the group.

Compliance training rate > 95%

Responsible corporate governance requires clear rules and a shared understanding. A high compliance training rate helps us anchor integrity, transparency, and responsible conduct throughout the group.

For us, sustainability means consistently combining economic success with ecological responsibility and social progress in order to create long-term added value.

Sustainability in practice

Concrete measures show how we implement sustainability at SIEMPELKAMP – in our technologies, in our processes, and in the further development of existing solutions. For us, resource conservation along the value chain is a key area.

Rethinking what already exists

For us, modernizing existing plants is an important contribution to greater resource protection and sustainability. One example is the complete modernization of an existing ContiRoll plant after more than 20 years in operation: instead of building an entirely new plant, the existing plant was brought up to the latest state of the art. As a result, around 60% of the material could be saved compared to a new plant. This shows how durability, modernization, and resource conservation interact at SIEMPELKAMP.
