Sustainability in Action at Siempelkamp
Smart. Sustainable. Siempelkamp.
Under this motto, we will showcase our innovative technologies for the first time at LIGNA 2025 — solutions that enable a sustainable transformation in MDF and particleboard production. Our focus is on next generation recycling concepts that combine cost-efficiency, resource conservation, and product quality.
Recycling in MDF Production: Innovation with Clear Benefits
Our newly developed dry process for MDF recycling makes it possible to efficiently reintegrate a wide range of wood-based fibre materials — including flooring, kitchen fronts, or coated panels — back into the production cycle.
It not only separates wood from impurities and disruptive materials but also focuses on cleaning and fibre recovery.
The process is particularly impressive due toits cost and resource efficiency:
- Dry defibration eliminates the need for steam, reducing energy costs
- Up to 30% less electricity consumption
- Drying costs are virtually eliminated
In addition, the process enhances the technical board properties, reduces the load on dryers and refiners, and enables higher plant throughput. Even PMDI-bonded boards can be processed — a truly unique selling point on the market.

Recycling in Particleboard Production: Modular, Efficient, Customized
Für das Spanplatten-Recycling setzen wir auf modulare, individuell konfigurierbare Reinigungslösungen. Je nach Materialzusammensetzung und Anforderungen unserer
For particleboard recycling, we rely on modular, individually configurable cleaning solutions. . Depending on the composition of the material and specific customer requirements, we offer customized technologies that reliably remove and sort contaminants such as:
- Metal
- Glass
- Plastics
- Paper
- Stones
The recovered wood fraction can be reused, while separated materials are directed into specialized recycling streams.
Our approach: a sustainable circular economy with maximum resource utilization.
