SIEMPELKAMP AWARD, RUHR UNIVERSITY BOCHUM: 3,000 EUROS FOR BEST MECHANICAL ENGINEERING GRADUATE
Neo Clausen completed his master’s degree at the Ruhr University Bochum with his thesis on “Coupled 3D / 1D Simulation of Cavitating Flow in Layer and Cloud Cavitation on a Hydroprofile for the Evaluation of Hydroacoustic Properties.” A highly topical subject that’s attracting lots of attention in both academia and industry. The award winner impressed the jury not only with his master’s thesis, but also with his consistently excellent performance throughout his entire course of study.
Dr. Mario Radwan, Product Manager Service at Siempelkamp, presented the Siempelkamp Award. As an alumnus of Ruhr University Bochum, Dr. Radwan serves as a link between Siempelkamp and the university, enriching the curriculum with such contributions as a guest lecture on “Mechanical Engineering in Practice.” He also organized a field trip for students, faculty, and researchers from the Department of Mechanical Engineering to Siempelkamp’s Krefeld site on May 28th.
This commitment is just one of many components within Siempelkamp’s program to support young talent. For many years, the Krefeld-based company has been offering young people the opportunity to pursue degrees in dual or part-time programs – programs that combine academic expertise with exciting fields of activity within an internationally operating company.
