SERVICE & TECHNOLOGY SYMPOSIUM 2025 SIEMPELKAMP IN DIALOGUE WITH CUSTOMERS IN MARIETTA/USA

45 representatives from 12 companies in North America attended the symposium. The event was organized by the Siempelkamp team in Marietta and the service experts from the German headquarters. The program included a varied mix of informational sessions and dialogue formats. “It is important to us to keep our customers continuously informed about the innovations we can offer to support them. However, personal exchange is just as important, as this is where we gain the best insights into how we can tailor our work in all its facets even more specifically to customer needs”, says Dr. Stephan Niggeschmidt, CEO of the Business Unit Service within the Siempelkamp Group.
The symposium's agenda included innovations developed by Siempelkamp for modifications and modernizations. This is where, for example, the modification packages and new developments related to the ContiRoll® continuous press were discussed. On the topic of material preparation, the Siempelkamp speakers presented new developments in wood recycling and mat forming. „Whats new?", was the tagline of a special information session on the innovation lab. This lab gives customers permanent access to the latest information on all modernization options – from the wood yard to finished boards, from spare parts to digitalization.
In a talk on Prod-IQ · SmartPress, the Siempelkamp team, illustrated the added value digitalization brings to plant operators. The tool enables real-time monitoring of wood-based panel plants and facilitates data-driven decisions. This pays off in optimized production processes and reduced downtime.
On the second day, local hosts Dirk Koltze (President of Siempelkamp LP/Siempelkamp Energy & Drying Solutions, LLC) and Ulises Freire (Director of Operations, Siempelkamp LP) gave a presentation on the setup of the two Siempelkamp companies in Marietta and Charlotte. They explained how they intend to further expand their range of services in the future in order to provide North American customers with even better support.
Furthermore, the symposium's program included welcome opportunities for all participants to exchange ideas. How can Siempelkamp LP provide even better and more targeted support to its North American customers? Which topics do customers consider essential in the area of research and development? In which product areas would plant operators like to see new developments or further optimization? These matters were discussed in depth and led to a joint discussion on the challenges facing the wood-based panel industry of tomorrow.
The fact that the symposium program met the needs of the participants was confirmed by the overwhelmingly positive feedback, which praised both the choice of topics and the format. Dr. Stephan Niggeschmidt: “The customer symposium gave us valuable insights into how we can provide even more targeted support to our customers in the future – in line with our Service Excellence initiative: We inspire our customers every day to be the benchmark for service in our industry!'"
