EVEN GREATER CUSTOMER PROXIMITY AND EXCELLENCE: SIEMPELKAMP INTENSIFIES ITS PRESENCE IN ASIA

In early 2024, Siempelkamp opened its third location in Southeast Asia. The Bangkok office aims to strengthen long-standing and successful relationships with customers in the region. Starting in January 2026, Daniel Bacic will take over the management of the location in order to intensify and expand customer contacts in this important market.

In 1989, Siempelkamp set up its Southeast Asian headquarters in Singapore, followed by a branch office in Kuala Lumpur in 2007. Since 2024, two employees have been working at the third location in Bangkok. This third expansion underscores the vital role that the region generally has for Siempelkamp, – but more importantly, it underlines the significance of the Thai market in particular. Siempelkamp recorded its first sales success in the local wood-based panel industry in 1980 with a single opening press. In Thailand alone, more than 22 ContiRoll® presses are in operation– proof of the great trust that the local wood-based panels producers have placed in Siempelkamp for many decades. “The opening of our location in Thailand is part of our ongoing commitment to offering our customers perfection and a reliable partnership right where they are", confirms Henning Gloede, Managing Director of Siempelkamp Pte. Ltd. since 2001, who has already been working for Siempelkamp in Asia since 1992.

The aim is to further strengthen the service and after-sales business in particular and to support Siempelkamp customers in the Asian region with fast and seamless service. The Bangkok office is designed to ensure the fastest possible response times for field service support and spare parts supply. Thai service and sales engineers, as well as seamless ‘Delivered Duty Paid’ deliveries of wear and spare parts are part of the strategy to further strengthen the strong and lasting relationships with customers in Thailand for all companies in the Siempelkamp Group.

New leadership from 2026 with Daniel Bacic

To ensure the success of this strategy, Daniel Bacic, an experienced wood-based materials expert, will take over as Managing Director of the Bangkok office in January 2026. The Italian citizen has been active in the woodworking industry since 1998. He has been working for the Siempelkamp Group since 2010, and has established himself in the Asian Market as Branch Manager of the Kuala Lumpur office for the last eight years. From Malaysia, he managed all the Siempelkamp installation and service departments for the Southeast Asia region.

"Having worked primarily in after-sales and service during his career at Siempelkamp, Daniel Bacic not only brings extensive technical knowledge to the table, but also the leadership skills needed to drive a company forward and expand its business. In addition to Siempelkamp's new plant business, he will focus on customer support, after-sales and service, and the planning of complex, multidisciplinary modernization projects. “All of this is based on our core value of ‘service excellence’, which we combine with a clear customer focus”, says Henning Gloede. “My move to Bangkok underscores Siempelkamp’s commitment to focusing on this important and steadily growing market in Southeast Asia.”, Daniel Bacic adds.

Bee Koon Lee was appointed Branch Manager in Kuala Lumpur and took up the role on November 1. Bee Koon Lee, a chartered accountant, is a Malaysian citizen, bringing many years of experience in managing international companies to her new role. She also has several years of experience in the Asian woodworking industry.
