Küpeliler Endustri AS places two orders with Siempelkamp: First continuous OSB plant for Turkey!
"Right place, right time, right project": According to this concept Küpeliler Endustri AS is established in several business areas, among others in the cement, packaging, and wood-based panel industries. The latter receives new impetus from a premiere plant which the Turkish company, founded in 1981, recently ordered from Siempelkamp: the first continuous press for OSB in Turkey.
The scope of supply includes a ContiRoll® in the format 4' x 33.8 m, extendable to 45.4 m, which replaces an existing plant at the Kutahya location. The new Siempelkamp plant will support Küpeliler Endustri AS in increasing its board quality and implementing higher plant availability. With the brand "Westboard" Küpeliler demonstrates its many years of experience with OSB material, which is mainly used in the construction industry, e.g. for cladding. The company thus provides attractive alternatives to expensive plywood and serves the rapidly growing demand from the construction and packaging industries. The quality of the OSB panels is enhanced by the special surface finish, the "OSB-ContiFinish". The improved thickness tolerances and optimized mechanical properties achieved with the continuous press technology also have a positive effect compared with conventional cycle press system boards.
The second new order was placed by Küpeliler Endustri with its German partner for its particleboard division. It comprises a line with a ContiRoll® in the format 7' x 23.8 m, extendable to 28,8 m. This new investment replaces a single-level line at the Eskişehir site, which has been in production for 40 years. The particleboard division was established and continuously expanded back in the 1980s under the company name Suntasan, part of the Küpeliler Group since 2006. In Eskişehir, the company focuses not only on production but also on the tempering of the boards. "We are pleased to be able to support Küpeliler's innovative strength with two plant concepts at the same time, especially since we can place a first in the Turkish market with the OSB plant," says Ulrich Kaiser, Head of Sales Siempelkamp. The two orders represent currently 32 ContiRoll® projects that Siempelkamp has realized with Turkish customers in 27 years. "Our reference list is a chronology of the continuous trust of Turkish wood-based material producers in our work," Ulrich Kaiser summarizes.

A central success factor for the high demand in the Turkish market is not least Siempelkamp's strong local presence according to the motto "globally active, locally present": Since 2010 Siempelkamp has been operating an office in Istanbul which supports Turkish wood-based panel producers with first-class, trustworthy advice. Under the management of Faruk Şişci, eight employees are dedicated to projects in the area of new plants as well as the support of the Siempelkamp service portfolio. With this team on site, the installed base is continuously updated, for example, with extensive modernization and upgrade measures for hardware and software.
