Composites competence made by Siempelkamp prevails: Six orders from international industry leaders in just a few months

Krefeld, 27 March 2018 - Expertise in press construction, active research work, holistic system solutions: The competence of the Siempelkamp Group meets the needs of the composites industry. This is confirmed by six orders placed with Siempelkamp by international customers in recent months.

Siempelkamp's expertise was in demand at Clausthal Technical University in 2017. In July 2017, it ordered a composites laboratory press. The university, whose research activities focus among other things on the processing and development of polymer materials and new processing techniques, was convinced of Siempelkamp in an international tender.

The industry also relies on the composites competence of the international technology supplier. Also in the summer of 2017, a Turkish company ordered a multi-opening heating, cooling and press system for the production of sandwich components from composite elements. The leading manufacturer of industrial fibers opted for a flexible system concept that is specially designed to meet the customer's technical requirements and scores with compact and efficient material transport. Here, too, our joint project began in our pilot plant: "Before we started with the plant design, we tested the correct process and production parameters with the new materials in preliminary tests," explains Carsten Daub, Head of Composites at Siempelkamp.

Another gratifying milestone in the chronology of success: In December 2017, a Russian industrial company ordered three complete press lini-nia. An SMC line with 1,000 tons. Press force, plus two SMC lines with 1,500 tons each. Press force was ordered by this new customer. Here Siempelkamp supplies complete solutions and demonstrates its process know-how in the field of SMC technology: "We do not only supply the actual composite press with mechanics, hydraulics, drives and controls. On request, our customers receive the entire plant with all upstream and downstream processes and a high degree of automation from a single source - a considerable competitive advantage in the market," says Carsten Daub.

The latest order was also placed by a Russian customer: The company, which focuses on engineering plastics and composite materials, placed a project planning order with Siempelkamp and its subsidiary Wolfangel GmbH in Ditzingen, including preliminary tests for a new injection process. The synergies within the group come to bear here within the framework of an innovative manufacturing process for a new product.
