Siempelkamp at the LIGNA Trade Fair 2017: ContiRoll® Generation 9 and ContiRoll® Generation 9 NEO turned out to be a complete success

Krefeld, 29 May 2017 - At the LIGNA, which took place between 22 and 26 May 2017 in Hanover, some 1,500 companies from 49 countries exhibited their innovations in the engineered-wood industry. Siempelkamp’s new ContiRoll® Generation 9 and ContiRoll® Generation 9 NEO boasted an unerring performance in Hall 26 – flanked by a spectacular stand concept to welcome customers and interested parties. This concept paid off, amongst others, in three new orders for wood-based board production plants as well as a number of service packages.

Siempelkamp at LIGNA 2017

In Hanover, Siempelkamp Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH exhibited its expertise represented by its service subsidiary SLS, the planning experts of its Belgian subsidiary Sicoplan, the front-end specialists CMC Texpan/Italy and the specialist in size-reduction technology Pallmann. Eye-catching machines and systems had been installed by Siempelkamp at the trade fair e.g. the measuring system Ecoscan and the Ecopulser for an extremely low-wear size reduction of chips and particles. The new glue-and-particle blender for particleboard plants as well as SicoCam, an optical process for board measurement, attracted the attention of the visitors to the LIGNA, the major part of which came from foreign countries.

Moreover, LIGNA’s guiding theme “Digitalization” was perfectly staged. “Not only does Siempelkamp do its utmost to obtain excellent physical properties for wood-based board, the wood-based board created by intelligent production is a reality, too! At Siempelkamp’s the future is tangible,” says Dr. Ing. Hans W. Fechner, Spokesman of the Executive Board of G. Siempelkamp GmbH & Co. KG. At the trade fair, the first fibre sifter developed in collaboration of Siempelkamp and its subsidiary Ventapp was introduced: the EcoSifter can be used to process many different wood species; it has a higher throughput, i.e. production capacity, and uses the energy much more efficiently than the designs presently available in the market.

ContiRoll® Generation 9 and Generation 9 NEO: setting a new benchmark in this industry

At the trade fair, Siempelkamp unveiled its showpiece: the ContiRoll® Generation 9 and Conti-Roll® Generation 9 NEO. The ContiRoll® has always been the benchmark in continuous produc-tion of engineered wood. The LIGNA saw a pioneering relaunch: a newly developed press infeed concept, the latest state-of-the-art drive and instrumentation technology, simulation and process control technology as well as new processes developed for mat heating and for the finishing line have lifted the ContiRoll® to a new level.

The ContiRoll® Generation 9 NEO especially impresses with an innovative, extended press infeed end. 14 press frames ensure reliable static conditions. The booster hot platen has been extended by 100 %. Along with the highly sophisticated hydraulic system it ensures the highest possible production performance. This concept enables an increase in output of up to 30 %! “These features will translate into decisive competitive advantages for our customers:
most notably, production increase, highest possible machine uptime, minimised maintenance, highly precise control of performance and condition as well as another improvement in product quality and an even higher potential in saving material and energy,” explains Jürgen Philipps, Spokesman of the Executive Board of Siempelkamp Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH.

Siempelkamp was awarded new orders at the LIGNA

At the LIGNA trade fair, producers of engineered wood from all parts of the world placed new orders, amongst others, for three plants for the production of engineered wood as well as several service packages. Dr. Ing. Hans W. Fechner’s résumé,”At the LIGNA 2017, we have had an incredibly positive response to our new products. Our contract volume for wood-processing plant sales amounts to some € 100m.”

These are the best prerequisites for the Krefeld-based machine and plant manufacturer to continue its success achieved in the previous business year. In 2016, the business unit Maschinen- und Anlagenbau increased its 2015 orders received by 8 % to € 500.8m and its turnover by an impressive 67.4 % to € 593.7m. “These characteristic figures illustrate the trust and confidence our international customers have in our innovative strength,” says Dr.-Ing. Hans W. Fechner.
