Pre-heating system

For optimum conditioning of the mat following the pre-compacting process, Siempelkamp has specially developed a mat preheating system which is used before the mat enters the press. During the patented ContiTherm® method, a mixture of hot air and steam is applied to the mat which then quickly, completely and uniformly preheats. The Siempelkamp method thus allows for the economical production of very thick boards.

Technical features:

  • approx. 10 % capacity increase per 10 °C of temperature increase
  • allows the production of thick boards of up to 65 mm
  • consistent mat temperature prior to the press
  • precise adjustment of preheating temperature between 55 and 90°C
  • avoiding pre-curing of resin due to optimized preheating temperature

Customer benefits:

  • capacity increase of 30 to 50 % when preheating mat to 70 C°
  • can be used for all board thicknesses starting at 6 mm
  • pressure reduction at press infeed
  • avoiding the common season-related capacity fluctuations
