Since 1st of February 2010, Siempelkamp Nukleartechnik moves closer to customers in France with its new representation in Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire (Tours).

In view of the current and future business developments between Siempelkamp Nukleartechnik and our French neighbouring country it was just a question of time to implement a location of SNT in France. Now SNT has a direct representation on the spot, in a country that we have been conducting business with increasing frequency in recent years. A good example is SNT’s high level partnership with the world market leading AREVA-Group. This excellent cooperation with AREVA is our dynamo for further activities in France. We particularly aim for broadening already existing business contacts with companies operating in the nuclear field like e.g. Eléctricité de France (EDF). We already reported about the large EDF-order inflow placed with Siempelkamp MSDG in our January issue.

In France, EDF is running nuclear power plants with overall 58 units, spread over 19 sites. Another prospective customer for us is the Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives (C.E.A.E.A.) with its 10 research centres. 85% of the power requirement in France is covered by nuclear energy. Flamanville II NPP is under construction and further power plants are planned. France doesn’t keep its nuclear know-how a secret but exports its knowledge across the borders throughout Europe and the rest of the world and further evinces great interest in a co-operation with companies like Siempelkamp Nukleartechnik.

Siempelkamp’s excellent reputation, expertise and long-term experiences will be conducive to optimise and increase our market shares in France. We will be supported in this task by Philippe Cavel who is our Man in France since February. Mr. Cavel is an old hand who works in the nuclear industry already for 15 years. He can look back on an enormous wealth of experience and disposes of excellent contacts in the French nuclear branch. Also our sales team in Krefeld and the Heidelberg engineers are at hand for him with help and advice.

Direct marketing from France assures Siempelkamp an ideal support service for the existing and potential clientele and also strengthens our presence on the French market.
