Compared to 2007 and 2008, when business was booming, the Siempelkamp Group of Companies also put up a good fight in 2009.

All our national and international production facilities were at full capacity. Siempelkamp Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH & Co. KG alone has received new orders totaling 200 million € in 2009. These orders included four (4) large ContiRoll® press lines and four (4) of the 4’ ContiRoll® press lines which were specifically developed for China.

Company result better than expected

“The company result exceeded our expectations by far," says Dr. Hans Fechner, spokesperson of the G. Siempelkamp GmbH & Co. KG management. “Despite the economic crisis, the prospects for 2010 are good. Our capacities are already fully booked into the year 2011.”

Continuing investments into Krefeld location and ongoing international expansion

In the course of an investment program stretched over several years, another construction stage aiming at expanding the production capacities at the Krefeld location has begun. The construction volume is in the double-digit million range. In August 2009 Siempelkamp acquired Hombak, a machine builder from Bad Kreuznach, Germany. Next to expanding national production and development capacities, our international expansion activities are also advancing.  Shortly before the turn of the year, Siempelkamp obtained a majority holding in CMC Texpan located in Colzate, Italy, effective from January 1, 2010.
